EKS Services Incorporated (EKS)

Mr. Carpenter is the founder and current CEO of EKS Services Incorporated (EKS).  EKS is a minority owned environmental consulting firm established in 2000 that provides a variety of environmental services and training to a diversified clientele base including the automotive industry, steel mill industry, health care sector, and the educational sector and property management companies throughout the Midwest.  In 2006, 2012 and 2013 EKS was proud to be awarded the Minority Supplier of the Year award by the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council. 

Prior to founding EKS Services Incorporated in 2000, Mr. Carpenter spent 4 years as the Director of Marketing and Sales for BDN Industrial Hygiene Consultants, a provider of environmental consulting services.  As a member of the executive management team for this firm, Mr. Carpenter was responsible for marketing, client tracking, cost proposals and in-service training.  During his tenure, Mr. Carpenter developed the Southeast Michigan office and consistently improved Profit and Loss performance while growing the business. 
Mr. Carpenter began his career with Testing Engineers and Consultants, Inc. where he spent 4 years as an industrial hygienist and an additional 2 years as a department manager working the operations side of the environmental consulting business. 
Mr. Carpenter attended Rochester College where he studied Pre-Law.  He also attended the Minority Business Executive Program and Advanced Minority Business Executive Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.  He also holds several environmental certifications and belongs to several environmental professional organizations.  Mr. Carpenter presides on the Kensington Estates Architectural Control Committee, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation D2D Capacity Building Program and Golden Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program and is a Mentor for the Real Life 101 Program and is a Board Member for Children’s OutreachMr. Carpenter has also had publications in Crain’s Detroit, Detroit News and Free Press, Michigan Contractor and Builder and WJR Business Biographies. 
Mr. Carpenter is married to Tina Carpenter and currently living in Southeast Michigan with his four children; Kelsey (21), Sydney (19), Whitney (18) and Elijah (15).
